Years later...
It's been forever since I've been here. Sorry about that. I did not fall off the face of the Earth! 
My life has been...challenging lately. And not only because of the Covid crap going around. My body has decided to give me a harder time and has deteriorated quite a bit. My hands are hurting more and my legs as well. Covid did not help. No, I did not have the virus (knocks on wood), but having to stay on lockdown took a toll on my body. Being isolated from my loved ones is still quite the challenge. Have not seen my father in 16 months! Damn! I miss some other family members, and the rare friends I have.
My hands are keeping me from making miniatures. I try to craft still, but I put miniatures aside for now.
I still draw sometimes. In the past few months I have been drawing mandalas. For a while, I could draw one a day.
I crochet a bit. I read a lot and play video games from time to time.
On March 10th, I had to have surgery to my right foot. My toes were all crooked toward under my foot and I was basically walking on my knuckles. Now, 7 weeks later, I finished the recovery period and my toes are straight...but can't bend anymore. Oh well, better that than walk on my joints, right? I could not leave my home for the entire 7 weeks, aside from my followups. I live on a second floor and there are just too many stairs. Now I can take them, but I get tired very quickly and I hurt so... I will work on recovering my strength little by little. It will take time, but it will be worth it I hope.
I have also been making beaded bracelets. I made 4 last week and gave them to someone I hope will appreciate them and like the fact they are handmade and have a story to it.
There's not much else to talk about, so I will stop here. I want to return to art, in some ways, and I will try to come here more than I did in the past couple years.
I want to thank those who took the time to write to me, asking if I was still alive, ahah. I tried answering everyone, but since I did not come here much, I did not answer messages that were like a year old or the users were not longer on DA.

If you are one of my followers, you might have seen that I currently am learning Crochet. So far, I can read "written" patterns, but not diagrams just yet. And I am learning the grammar of it all in French. So, when I am comfortable enough, I will translate the terms in the english patterns into french terminology.
Getting used to the abbreviations is hard also, but I have developed a way to make it easier to learn. I got a notebook and rewrite all the patterns in two colors. Blue for general terms, red for abbreviations, which I un-abbreviate, lol. I write the full term in red, instead of having the abbreviations. I used to learn that way in my math classes by almost completely copying the book with colors and all. It helps a lot. Well, it is helpful to me at least. Now I am almost to the point of being comfortable reading patterns in their original version.
You don't see much of my crochet here because I redo lots of stuff as I go. Practice is the best thing and the nice part with crochet is that it is rather easy to undo a return to the place where you missed.
The line is thin between "pretty crochet things" and "kitsch". I don't want to go into kitschy stuff, but to learn to techniques, I need to go there. lol.
My goal is to make mini crochet things for dolls and dollhouses. Imagine if I could make mini doilies or table cloths, sweaters or hats. It would be awesome!
